At Veramendi, the idea of community has always included investing in the people who make New Braunfels such a remarkable place to live. Through the work of the Veramendi Charitable Foundation, that commitment is highlighted by ongoing support of local education, from scholarships for graduating seniors to hands-on partnerships with schools, educators, and families across the district.
Empowering Students Through Scholarships
Each year, the Veramendi Charitable Foundation helps local students take their next step after high school by offering two distinct scholarship programs designed to meet students where they are, whether that path leads to a four-year university or a skilled trade. The 2026 Veramendi Foundation Scholarship and Veramendi Foundation Vocational Scholarship both share the same following application deadlines and eligibility requirements:
2 awards | $1,000 each | Renewable
Application deadline: March 2, 2026
Eligible applicants must:
- Be graduating seniors from New Braunfels High School planning to attend a four-year accredited college or university
- Demonstrate financial need
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA (4.0 scale)
- Participate in school, community, or work activities
- Address how they plan to create a lasting impact in New Braunfels
- Provide three references
- Enroll full-time as defined by the receiving institution
Together, these programs reflect VCF’s belief that education is a powerful driver of opportunity and long-term community strength.
Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom
Scholarships are just one part of Veramendi’s broader education mission. VCF also supports students at every stage by partnering with organizations that meet immediate needs, and by actively participating in and sponsoring key community events that benefit teachers and students across New Braunfels ISD:
Pack the Bus
The Veramendi Charitable Foundation is a proud partner of Communities In Schools of South Central Texas through the Pack the Bus School Supply campaign. As New Braunfels continues to grow, so does the demand for basic school supplies.
Through CIS, community members come together to donate new backpacks and supplies, helping thousands of students walk into their classrooms prepared, confident, and ready to learn throughout the school year.
Taste of the Town
VCF also proudly supports Taste of the Town, the largest fundraiser hosted by the New Braunfels ISD Education Foundation. Held at the New Braunfels Civic and Convention Center, the event brings together dozens of local restaurants, live performances by student musicians, and hundreds of community members all raising funds to enrich education.
Proceeds from Taste of the Town help provide grants for first-time teachers joining the district, funding field trips and supplemental learning experiences, and resources that allow educators to try innovative programs not covered by standard budgets.
For more than 16 years, this event has strengthened the connection between local businesses, educators, and families, which is an alignment the Veramendi Charitable Foundation is proud to be part of.
Education Expo & PTA Support
Veramendi also supports local PTAs through events, incentives, and direct engagement, while participating in district initiatives like the New Braunfels ISD Education Expo. At the 2025 Expo, Veramendi welcomed educators and community members to stop by, grab some swag, and take a virtual tour of Word Park, continuing the conversation about how thoughtful community design and strong schools go hand in hand.
Building a Stronger Future, Together
From scholarships that open doors to partnerships that meet real needs, Veramendi’s support of education is rooted in one simple idea: when students and educators thrive, the entire community benefits.
As New Braunfels grows, Veramendi remains committed to growing alongside it, investing in education, opportunity, and the next generation who will shape the future of the place we call home.
